Wolves host Sunderland this weekend, and Regis Le Bris has spoken to the media today about his next opponent.
Wanderers are looking to respond after narrowly losing to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
Wolves may be down, but there is still the need to finish the season well – both for pride and to create a bit of momentum and good feeling ahead of playing in the Championship.
Wolves fans, can you see us coming up with something against Sunderland at Molineux? 🤔
They've just been thrashed 5-0 by Vitor Pereira's Nottingham Forest…
Wolves can still finish above Burnley in the table, so there’s incentive for a good finish.
Rob Edwards could also do with getting some results.
While there is a very strong chance he’ll be leading Wolves in the Championship, finishing this season poorly could leave him sitting uncomfortably.
Ahead of the game, Regis Le Bris has explained why he and Sunderland will be wary.
Regis Le Bris praises Wolves despite relegation

Wolves only narrowly lost to Spurs, but there was again a lack of quality in the final third.
There’ll need to be a response against Sunderland, who were just thrashed 5-0 by Vitor Pereira’s Nottingham Forest.
Le Bris has spoken to the media today about Saturday’s game – and has made it clear he is wary of the challenge posed by Wolves despite already being relegated.
He said: “They have had a difficult season, it’s obvious. Especially away from home. Because they got good results recently at home. Arsenal, Villa, Liverpool, even against Tottenham, the game was tight.
“So then probably they know now what will be the next challenge. They try to generate momentum and good vibes for the next season and it’s still important to finish properly.
“They play with mental freedom, that’s obvious. They are still dangerous, it’s clear. They’re organised with good players. This is the Premier League, so you can have a difficult season but still have quality.”
Wounded Sunderland are there for the taking
Le Bris is absolutely right when he talks about Wolves still having reason to finish the season strongly.
These final games should not be treated as a write-off just because the club have been relegated.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 15 | 34 | 9 | 13 | 12 | 44 | 51 | -7 | 40 | |
| 16 | 34 | 10 | 9 | 15 | 41 | 45 | -4 | 39 | |
| 17 | 34 | 9 | 9 | 16 | 42 | 58 | -16 | 36 | |
| 18 | 34 | 8 | 10 | 16 | 43 | 53 | -10 | 34 | |
| 19 | 34 | 4 | 8 | 22 | 34 | 68 | -34 | 20 | |
| 20 | 34 | 3 | 8 | 23 | 24 | 62 | -38 | 17 |
The players need to have some personal pride, because they owe it to the fans who have supported so loyally for so long.
They need to buy into that notion of mental freedom that Le Bris spoke about. There should be no inhibitions or feelings of pressure, and they need to embrace the challenge, and the chance to end Sunderland’s European football hopes once and for all.
