Bruno Lage has moved to praise Adama Traore, who put in a lively performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spaniard was arguably the standout performer against Spurs in the 1-0 defeat at Molineux.

Traore was a menace for the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga, who often had little choice but to foul the 25-year-old.

His driving runs made life very uncomfortable for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Unfortunately, the end product was again lacking.

In the second-half, he had a golden chance to score after a great through ball from Ruben Neves.

He was thwarted by Hugo Lloris, but Bruno Lage was positive about the livewire after the game.

He said: “Adama worked hard all week, first of all, I think he did a good performance, on the left and right.

“Attacking in transitions, the way we work, I think he can improve more and he’s working hard on his shooting.

“The most important thing is the way we created chances and, with work, goals will come.”

Traore shows he must be kept

He may have struggled with his end product again, but he quite rightly came in for a positive word from Lage.

He was brilliant against Spurs, as he was against Leicester City.

With Pedro Neto out for the foreseeable future, there is an onus on him to be one of Wolves’ main men.

He needs to be the top creator for the team, and he’s already showing he will be that man.

Traore has been linked with an exit from the club in recent weeks.

From what we have seen so far, cashing in would be a hugely risky move.
