Wolves could potentially reignite their interest in Che Adams in January.
Wanderers made a play for the Southampton striker at the end of the summer transfer window.
Reports began to surface the day before deadline day.
And it was then suggested Wolves were trying to sign the star with just hours to go.
But Southampton ultimately decided they didn’t want to lose the player, and blocked his exit, dealing Wolves a blow.
Wolves then attempted to make a move for Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia.
But their approach was deemed unacceptable by the club’s sporting director Morgan De Sanctis.
Adams stayed put at Southampton, but there is a chance Wolves could make a new attempt to sign him in January…
Wolves could make new Che Adams approach in January
The Athletic have taken questions about Wolves, with some people asking about what could be in store in January.

On whether Wolves could go back in for Scotland international Adams, journalist Steve Madeley said: “I wouldn’t rule it out entirely but I don’t believe he will be the first-choice option.
“Missing out on Adams in the summer was a blow for Wolve. But the positive is that it gave the recruitment team more time to research alternatives.
“I suspect they will have a bigger list to choose from in January, hopefully with some more exciting and cost-effective options on it.”
Adams has made nine Championship appearances so far this season, scoring three goals. Those goals came in the first three games.
Wolves can probably do better than Adams
It will be intriguing to see if Wolves do go back in for Adams after their failed attempt on deadline day.
Obviously, Adams has Premier League experience, and has scored 25 goals in the competition.
But he’s not particularly prolific, and Wolves do just need someone who has a bit of cutting edge about them.
That is what has been needed for the longest time at Molineux.

Perhaps Dia would be a better option.
He made not have Premier League experience, and the relations between Wolves and Salernitana may be somewhat strained, but the Senegal international has been very sharp in front of goal for the Italian club.
