‘Would love this signing’… Wolves fans lap up transfer links to ‘excellent’ £10m Premier League midfielder

Wolves are looking to add more new faces to their squad after signing Fer Lopez.

The club completed their first signing of the summer a few days ago, landing Lopez in a £19.5 million deal from Celta Vigo.

But there is now an expectation from the fans for Wolves to move on, and keep the ball rolling.

Wolves are said to be prioritising a goalkeeper at the moment, with uncertainty over both Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone.

A new number 10 is also on the cards.

But the club are also looking at central midfielders, with Tommy Doyle likely to leave Wolves and Boubacar Traore potentially heading out on loan.

Last week, it was reported that Wolves admire Andreas Pereira from Fulham.

Pereira has been at Craven Cottage since the summer of 2022 after he signed from Manchester United for around £10 million (Sky Sports), but could now be set to move on.

Midfield is a very strong area for Wolves.

Joao Gomes and Andre are a superb pairing in the engine room, and they were getting better and better towards the end of the 2024/25 season.

But they probably do need some better cover and competition.

Pereira is somebody who may provide that, and the Brazilian also has the capacity to play a bit further forward. So that versatility may appeal to Vitor Pereira.

On social media, Wolves fans reacted pretty positively to the links to Pereira.

@ccount5775: “Would be delighted with this. Proven Prem quality, decent fee. Happy days.”

@DomDanbury: “Would be a good signing, good dead ball delivery too with Sarabia gone.”

@ChicagoFanMike: “Would love this signing.”

@Wolves689: “Excellent player but, I’d be surprised if we were able to get him.”

@Bullseyetips: “Take him all day long.”

Andreas Pereira could be a good squad player for Wolves

If Doyle and Traore are going to leave, then Pereira would be a good option to bring in.

The star obviously has a huge amount of Premier League experience, having made 148 appearances in the competition across stints with Fulham and Manchester United.

But that versatility also makes him quite handy.

Since he only has a year left on his contract at Craven Cottage (although Fulham do have an option of a further year), there might be an opportunity for Wolves to get a good deal here.

Wolves, of course, have three Brazilians in their ranks already and plenty of Portuguese speakers. So perhaps this would be a lure if Wanderers did come calling.
