A young player who accompanied Gary O’Neil’s squad for the trips to Marbella and Miami is now set to leave the club.
So far this summer, only Max Kilman has departed Molineux.
The defender joined West Ham United in a £40 million move, which led to a lot of praise for sporting director Matt Hobbs.
More players are now expected to follow, as O’Neil seeks to trim his squad a little bit.
The likes of Daniel Podence and Goncalo Guedes are expected to leave, even though both did feature in parts of Wolves’ pre-season.
There could also be another bigger sale, in the form of either Pedro Neto or Rayan Ait-Nouri.
But one journalist has today reported that Luke Cundle is now heading for the exit.
Luke Cundle ‘set to leave’ Wolves despite decent involvement in pre-season

It has been reported by journalist Darren Witcoop today on X that midfielder Luke Cundle is ‘set to leave’ Wolves in this window.
The 22-year-old was a part of the training camp in Marbella, and he also flew out to Miami for the second part of the club’s pre-season.
He has featured in four of Wolves’ five games across the two trips, and was only an unused substitute against RB Leipzig at the weekend.
Cundle has looked decent in the games, and he also reported back to the club in good shape. Out in Marbella, he was reported to have one a gruelling running session in the blazing heat.
Cundle was given his Wolves first-team debut in 2019 by Nuno Espirito Santo in an EFL Cup match against Reading.
His Premier League debut would come in January 2022 courtesy of Bruno Lage, in a game against Southampton, with his full Premier League debut coming a few weeks later against Tottenham Hotspur.
Cundle exit would be no surprise
So Cundle appears to be heading for the exit, despite his good level of involvement over the summer for Wolves.
This will not come as too much of a surprise to most fans though.
Gary O’Neil is stacked for good options in central midfield, with club captain Mario Lemina and top prospect Joao Gomes currently the go-to pairing. There are then great options in reserve in Tommy Doyle and Boubacar Traore.
Minutes would be hard to come by for Cundle if he stayed.
It now just remains to be seen what kind of deal Wolves facilitate. He has a couple of years left on his contract, so there may be a temptation to cash in for a decent fee. Back in January, it was suggested Wolves could cash in for around £2 million.
If that is to be the case, then Wolves must ensure a sell-on clause is negotiated, or perhaps even a buy-back.
