Daniel Podence has made it clear to Wolves who he is aiming to play for this season after a recent development in his transfer saga.
While many of the stars of Wolves’ first team have now returned to start their pre-season training, joining them are the outcasts from the previous campaign.
One such player is Podence who spent the 2023/24 season out on loan to Greek side Olympiacos. Here, the winger was fantastic as they lifted the Europa Conference League and knocked out Aston Villa on their way to victory.
Now the question remains of where his future lies. Podence was spotted in Marbella recently, taking part in pre-season preparations. However, a recent development has shown that he may be on the move again this summer.

Daniel Podence makes a clear sign that he wants to move to Olympiacos

At Olympiacos, Podence was fantastic. The winger netted 15 goals in all competitions as well as collected an abundance of assists.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Olympiacos want to see his return for the upcoming campaign. However, now Podence has made a clear sign that he wants his future to be in Greece.
According to To10.Gr, Podence is very keen on staying in Greece. As a result, he has just completed the purchase of a house in the southern suburbs with his wife and child.
However, the deal between Wolves and Olympiacos is seen as far from easy. The Old Gold want to get as much as they can from the sale but the Greek side are ‘trying in every way’ to sign the winger on a permanent basis.
Wolves should not keep Daniel Podence against his will

It is clear that Podence wants to leave and while Wolves should still try to get a good deal, they should not stand in his way.
The Portuguese winger was a key player for many years and the club would arguably be in the Championship right now if not for his form in the 2022/23 campaign.
It has been reported that Wolves only want between £5 million and £10 million for Podence. With an asking price so small, the club should allow a little leeway or they risk having an unhappy player in the club which could damage the dressing room.
However, if they convince Podence to stay then he would no doubt be a sensational option to have in the squad.
