Wolves warned ‘big clubs’ have been scouting ‘effortless’ player for at least 12 months now

Wolves are out of the relegation zone after a terrific 4-1 win at Fulham on Saturday, with Matheus Cunha again starring.

Wolves have started to come into a bit of form now, and are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning the last two against Southampton and Fulham.

Gary O’Neil was under big pressure ahead of that Southampton game, but he has strengthened his position now which will please Fosun, who are desperate for O’Neil to succeed.

One man who has been absolutely central to Wolves’ upturn in form of late is Matheus Cunha.

Cunha shone in the win over Fulham with two goals and an assist, and the Brazilian really is in the form if his life right now.

Potentially, Cunha is in with a good chance of winning Premier League Player of the Month if he shines for Wolves against Bournemouth this weekend, after a solid November so far.

But there is one downside to this amazing period for Cunha.

Without doubt, Cunha is Wolves’ best player.

The 25-year-old has proven himself to be a total gamechanger, and someone capable of providing moments of magic and winning games on his own.

Perhaps inevitably, there is now some talk about Cunha with regards to his future at the club.

What he’s doing right now isn’t going unnoticed, with Liam Keen dropping an update on the player in a new video for Shots TV.

He said: “He’s hot as anything right now. There will be big clubs looking at him, there are big clubs looking at him and there has been for 12 months or so since last season’s form.

“They will be continuing to look at him for this very reason.

“I did my tweet after his second (goal), and the only way I could describe it was, he is just so, so good and it’s too easy for him. Swagger is the right word, it’s just so effortless.”

Wolves face big battle to keep Cunha

It was inevitable that speculation would start to increase about Cunha after his stellar month.

But it sounds as though top clubs have been on Cunha’s tail for quite a while and that’s completely understandable. The player has been brilliant for Wolves throughout the calendar year of 2024.

He is an amazing player and Wolves are surely going to face a real challenge keeping hold of him next year.

Wolves will hopefully still be a Premier League next year, but even in the event of comfortable survival, it’s hard to see clubs not coming calling for Cunha.

When you’ve got a player as good as him who can turn games around in the blink of an eye, it’s inevitable top clubs will be interested.

It’ll be the hope of Wolves fans everywhere that Cunha stays, but if he does have to go then the club must demand an absolutely huge fee that far eclipses the ones brought in for Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves, Matheus Nunes and Pedro Neto.
