Interest in Arsenal youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry has reportedly ramped up at Wolves, with journalist Ben Jacobs giving a positive update on the transfer situation when speaking to GIVEMESPORT.
Wolves are enjoying a positive season under Gary O’Neil, who has exceeded expectations so far at Molineux since his arrival as manager just five days prior to the 2023/24 Premier League opener.
After a summer of financial restraints saw Julen Lopetegui walk away from his role at the club, the Englishman took charge to sanction the sale of Matheus Nunes in order to raise funds to bolster his inherited squad.
Now, it looks as though the former Bournemouth boss is looking towards his first summer transfer window in the Midlands, with one target said to be identified as Arsenal academy jewel, Amario Cozier-Duberry.
What Ben Jacobs has said about Wolves stance on Amario Cozier-Duberry
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Ben Jacobs gave an uplifting update on Wolves’ interest in moving for the 18-year-old, who signed his first professional contract with the Gunners in 2022.
Jacobs explained that the Old Gold are “hoping” that they can capture the teenager’s signature, with his deal at the Emirates set to expire in the summer, presenting the opportunity for O’Neil to sign the forward in a free transfer.
“Wolves in particular are very much across this and hoping that they might be able to, should things not go Arsenal’s way, get a transfer over the line in June.”
“It’s also fair to say that Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund, amongst others, are also facing the same situation.”
“That’s normal because when a player is available on a free transfer in June, there’s always that ability to get a bargain deal and try to pre-agree something on a free transfer. Arsenal know this.”

What Amario Cozier-Duberry could offer to Wolves
Primarily deployed as a right-winger, the 18-year-old has the versatility to feature in most areas of attack, possessing a strong left foot that has seen him star for Arsenal’s academy over the years.
Playing above his age group in the Premier League 2, Cozier-Duberry has netted five goals in nine appearances this season in the competition, taking his overall goal contribution tally to 40 in 73 total appearances at academy level – 24 goals and 16 assists.
If anyone knows the ability of the shining Wolves target, it’s Arsenal U-18s manager Jack Wilshere, who likened the starlet to Bukayo Saka when speaking to football.london.
“Amario is very exciting and Mikel likes him. He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting. In some moments he’s unplayable.”
O’Neil could be close to securing a bargain by hiring Cozier-Duberry in the summer, and if the youngster’s path is anything compared to that of Bukayo Saka’s, the Old Gold could be in for a treat.
