Wolves transfer news: Yoane Wissa interest mentioned
It’s been a rapid start to the window at Molineux, as Wolves made defender Kevin Danso a top target this winter.
While signing a defender is a priority, the Old Gold could be tempted to revisit a former target, as Sky Sports mentioned in a New Years Day update.
When rounding up the possible outcomes of the January window for each Premier League club, Yoane Wissa was named as a player once wanted by Wolves.
Wolves wanted to sign Wissa during the summer however, the forward remained at Brentford, where he continues to thrive.
Sky Sports’ report highlights the interest the Midlands club had in the summer, saying that it ‘remains to be seen’ whether any clubs approach the attacker this month.
Nottingham Forest joined Wolves as being admirers of Wissa, who would undoubtedly strengthen the front line.
How many goals has Wissa scored this season?
Wissa is a player made for the Premier League, joining the Bees back in 2021 where he has since contributed to 47 goals in 128 appearances in all competitions.
Already, the Congolese star has scored nine Premier League goals this season, hoping to top his 2023/24 tally of 12 league goals.
| Competition | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 15 | 9 | 1 |
| EFL Cup | 3 | 1 | 0 |
| Total | 18 | 10 | 1 |
Matheus Cunha is the only Wolves player to have scored more league goals than Wissa this season, who is a clear threat whenever Brentford attack.
Wolves’ focus remains on improving at the back however, it will be interesting to see if the Old Gold decide to approach Wissa this winter.
