Wolves transfer news: Wolves offer £26 million plus Ruben Neves for Ansu Fati

Wolves have reportedly made a bid of £26 million, plus midfielder Ruben Neves, for Barcelona winger Ansu Fati.

That is the huge claim from Spanish publication SPORT today.

Neves has long been linked with a move to the Nou Camp.

He is thought to have been a target for them for months, with Sergio Busquets set to leave at the end of the season.

But there have been plenty of reports suggesting that Martin Zubimendi is the preferred choice for manager Xavi.

And more recently, there have been claims Barca are looking to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City.

But SPORT say today that Neves could yet wind up at the Nou Camp, with Wolves looking to sign Fati.

Apparently, the club have made a cash offer of £26 million. And they are throwing in Neves as a sweetener.

SPORT suggest that the value of this offer from Wolves is about £52 million.

Wolves were only linked with Fati earlier this week, with Spanish journalist José Alvarez claiming Wolves, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur were all keen.

Jorge Mendes, his agent, flew to Barcelona yesterday ahead of talks with the player and his camp. He was asked about Fati at the airport, and he described him as a ‘phenomenon’ to reporters.

Barca are said to be studying Wolves’ offer for Fati. The move would depend on him, with Neves seemingly open to being included in a deal.

Mendes apparently sold Wolves to the young winger, with SPORT saying he explained the club as a means of settling in the Premier League before getting a move to a ‘top-level’ club.

Fati and his entourage were supposedly not sold. But SPORT suggest he will struggle for minutes next term if he stays put at Barca.

Wolves need to be 100% Ansu Fati wants to join the club, as they reportedly offer cash plus Ruben Neves

This is quite the claim from SPORT today.

Neves has been on Barca’s radar for some time, and if Fati is a player Wolves want then perhaps there’s a deal to be done here.

But Wanderers would need to know that Fati would be 100% happy coming. From this report, it doesn’t sound like he would be at the moment.

Mendes helped bring Goncalo Guedes to Molineux, and that just didn’t work out. Julen Lopetegui said before the winger left to join Benfica on loan that he wanted to leave.

Fati is an amazing young talent and he would be a very exciting addition.

But if there is even a shred of doubt in his mind about making a move to Wolves then the club should not be trying to sign him.

And actually, Neves’ value this summer will be about £40 million.

If Wolves really have offered £26 million plus Neves for Fati, then that is seriously too much. If anything, it should be a straight swap offer.
