Wolves transfer news: Wolves interested in Adama Bojang

Wolves are reportedly interested in signing young striker Adama Bojang.

The London Evening Standard claimed last night that Premier League interest is mounting in the starlet, who is currently impressing with Gambia at the U20 World Cup in Argentina.

Bojang is wanted by Wolves, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and one other unnamed Premier League club.

There is also interest from overseas. Two Bundesliga sides and four teams from Ligue 1 are keen. These include Eintracht Frankfurt and Lens.

At the moment, Bojang is playing his club football with Steve Biko FC in his homeland.

But the feeling is that the starlet will soon be moving onto bigger and better things. Earlier this year, Bojang helped Gambia reach the final of the U20 African Cup of Nations. He was named in the Team of the Tournament.

According to the Daily Mail last week, Bojang carries the nickname of ‘the Gambian hurricane’ due to the energy with which he plays.

They also reported that Sporting CP, Inter Milan and Red Bull Salzburg were all keen on the youngster.

It seems as though Chelsea would be the biggest threat to Wolves over Bojang.

Apparently the Blues were interested in him even before his exploits at the U20 AFCON, where he scored four goals.

Bojang will next be in action tomorrow night. Gambia have qualified for the Round of 16 as group winners, and will face Uruguay next.

Many clubs are reportedly interested in snapping him up, which tells you he’s a real talent.

The Daily Mail state that he is ‘prolific’ for Steve Biko FC. And according to a Football Transfers feature earlier this year, Bojang has been likened to Napoli and Nigeria superstar Victor Osimhen.

Given Wolves’ goalscoring issues in the Premier League, it would make sense the club would want to bring in a young player like Bojang.

He would likely not come in as a first-team player right away. But he could definitely be an exciting addition for the future.
