Wolves transfer news: Wolves eyeing Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos

Wolves have reportedly been keeping tabs on Vasco da Gama youngster Andrey Santos.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, the talented 17-year-old midfielder is catching the eye of several big clubs from across Europe at the moment.

That is despite having actually only made three appearances for Vasco. And none of those were even starts.

Barcelona are the first team the report mentions, with the Catalan giants having already made a proposal.

But there is also interest from AC Milan, Benfica, Monaco, and Wolves. For now, these teams are keeping an eye on things.

Santos undoubtedly has a really bright future.

He may not yet have started for Vasco, but he has played for the Brazil U20s and even sported the captain’s armband.

Vasco want to agree a new contract with Santos. Currently he can leave for free by signing a pre-contract starting in March next year. He could potentially leave by the age of only 19.

Globo Esporte recently conducted an interview with Santos, who has stated Cristiano Ronaldo is an idol of his. And that he also looks up to Sergio Busquets for his technical quality and leadership.

Wolves up against it to sign Andrey Santos as Barcelona circle

It is probably going to be a tough ask for Wolves to sign Andrey Santos ahead of Barcelona.

The Catalan giants have had some tough times recently, but they remain an absolutely massive club that many young players dream of playing for.

And obviously in the past, Barca landed another Brazilian starlet in the form of Neymar, who went on to become one of the best players in the world.

That, and the prospect of working under Xavi, is likely to greatly appeal to Santos.
