Wolves transfer news: Wanderers want another centre-forward after Guedes

Wolves are reportedly keen to sign another centre-forward after wrapping up a deal for Goncalo Guedes.

According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Wanderers are now very close to signing the Portugal international.

The player is having a medical today.

It is expected the move, which Thomas says is worth around £25 million, will go through without any issues.

It is a big boost for Wolves, who were without a recognised centre-forward at the weekend against Leeds United.

Guedes himself is not an out-and-out striker. But the star has played through the middle many times for Valencia.

He will be able to do a job there in the absence of Raul Jimenez and Fabio Silva.

According to Thomas, Wolves won’t stop at Guedes.

The club are apparently looking to land another centre-forward after the 25-year-old.

In recent days, there have been links to the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Ludovic Ajorque and Hwang Ui-jo.

The update from Thomas is sure to go down well with supporters, who have been clamouring for extra firepower.

Goncalo Guedes plus one out-and-out centre-forward would be ideal for Wolves

This is an update that will no doubt be welcomed by Wolves fans.

The move for Guedes has improved the mood slightly after the disappointment of Saturday.

But Wolves signing another centre-forward after him would really increase the level of optimism.

It would be great to see Batshuayi come in on loan from Chelsea, since he has Premier League experience.

If Wolves can get Guedes, another striker and a central midfielder in, then the picture would look a lot better.
