Wolves transfer news: Wanderers slap £21.4 million asking price on Fabio Silva

Wolves are open to selling Fabio Silva this summer – and are asking for around £21.4 million for the striker.

The 20-year-old has just finished a productive season that saw him have loan spells with Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven.

Silva particularly enjoyed his time in the Netherlands.

He has said publicly that he would stay there if it was down to him.

Silva’s future is currently up in the air. Wolves need to make player sales this summer, but they also need to address the long-standing goalscoring issue.

But it seems the club is ready to offload Silva, with an asking price now shared.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Wolves would be willing to sell Silva this summer for a fee of £21.4 million (€25 million).

The club want to recover as much of the £35.6 million they paid FC Porto in 2020 as possible, and feel there is a chance to get at least £21.4 million for the youngster.

There is a reasonable chance that Wolves will be able to secure such a fee.

Because interest in Silva right now is very high.

According to the Express & Star yesterday, Silva is a target for Galatasaray, and Ajax, Sevilla, Roma and AC Milan have shown concrete interest.

Given all these teams are keen, there is potential for a bidding war to break out.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that Silva will still be a Wolves player in 2023/24.

A few days ago, comments from the player’s agent surfaced. Carlos Oliveira outright said that the plan was to get Silva out of Wolves, with his client having been left with ‘psychological scars’ with the way he was treated. He stated that they wanted a ‘definite exit’.

It seems Wolves are happy to grant that definite exit, if they receive an offer of £21.4 million.

It is a shame that Silva appears very unlikely to stay at Wolves.

In his first two seasons at Molineux it was really tough for him, but he did show glimpses of his talent.

He was just extremely inexperienced and struggled under the weight of expectation and his price tag.

If he does move on, there’s a chance he could thrive at his next club.
