Wolves transfer news: Wanderers ready to listen to offers for Willy Boly

Wolves are reportedly ready to listen to offers for defender Willy Boly.

The central defender has not made a single appearance in the Premier League so far.

The Ivory Coast international has struggled with his fitness again this term, and has played just once in the Carabao Cup against Tottenham Hotspur. He got 90 minutes at Molineux, with the game finishing 2-2 and going straight to penalties.

Not long ago, Boly was seen by many as the best defender at Molineux.

The former FC Porto star had a huge impact for Wolves in their journey back to the Premier League, and back-to-back seventh place finishes in the first two seasons.

But the star has a wretched injury record, and in 2021 he also struggled after testing positive for Covid-19.

According to the Daily Mail, Wolves could now listen to offers for Boly, who is currently on the sidelines with a calf problem. That issue has cause him to miss AFCON.

The ace has 18 months left on his contract. But it seems Wolves are open to cashing in on the £10 million star before his value completely plummets.

Wolves right to consider offers for Willy Boly

Wolves are absolutely right to be open to selling Boly this month.

It is sad to see how much he has been struggling to get 100% match fit. But the situation is what it is, and Wolves have got to consider selling. Just as they are doing with Adama Traore, whose contract is up at the same time as Boly’s.

Wolves have done absolutely fine without the 30-year-old so far this season.

With the second-best defensive record in the Premier League, the team just haven’t missed him. Max Kilman’s development has been especially impressive.

Romain Saiss may now be away on AFCON duty. But he won’t be gone for that long, and Wolves have also just brought Dion Sanderson back from his loan at Birmingham City.

Then there is the possibility Wolves could make a new signing. Carlos Salcedo has been mentioned as a possible incoming.

If the offer is right, Wolves should make the sale.
