Wolves striker target Elye Wahi is reportedly now wanted by Chelsea.
It was recently reported that Wolves were taking an interest in the young Montpellier striker.
Wahi really impressed last season, finishing with a haul of 19 goals to put him among the division’s top scorers.
Wolves are said to be keen on the youngster, as there is a desire to sign players that are like Joao Gomes – unpolished but with big potential.
But it doesn’t look like Wolves will have it easy to sign the Frenchman…
Chelsea keen on Wolves target Elye Wahi
According to France’s biggest publication L’Equipe, Chelsea are now keen on Wahi.
They say the Premier League giants have actually been negotiating for days.

Recently, Montpellier’s president stated that a German club and an English club were attempting to sign Wahi. This raised hopes for some in the Wolves fanbase.
But it appears the English club in question is actually Chelsea.
Montpellier have received further proposals from Union Berlin, Lazio and Bournemouth. But none of these are said to interest Wahi.
It is stated that Montpellier are looking for around £25.6 million to sell their prized asset.
Wolves could have edge over Chelsea in Wahi race, especially if Fabio Silva is sold
On the face of it, this is frustrating for Wolves.
Despite their chaotic past year, Chelsea remain a huge club. And it’s possible Wahi will be considering a move there if the Blues can reach an agreement with Montpellier.
But Wolves can surely offer the player more game time than Chelsea.

In fact, it’s been reported that Chelsea could even loan Wahi to Strasbourg, the club Todd Boehly and his Clearlake Capital consortium recently acquired.
If Wahi is looking to play Premier League football, then a move to Molineux might be the way to go.
And if Fabio Silva is sold by Wolves, then surely there’s a good chance he’ll want to come.
