Wolves are reportedly showing interest in Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
January is almost upon us, and the signs are that Wolves are going to be busy.
Julen Loptegui has come in and is seeking to get a big response.
But he wants to add new faces, and there have already been many transfer links while the World Cup has been on.
Wanderers are expected to bolster their defence, with a new centre-back very much on the agenda.
But it’s also possible Wolves might seek to sign a new right-back, with both Nelson Semedo and Jonny Castro Otto having been in poor form this season.
Wan-Bissaka has really fallen out of favour at Old Trafford in recent times.
Under Erik ten Hag, he has played just four minutes – yes, four minutes – this season.
Diogo Dalot is the preferred choice right now, and the England international seemingly does not have a future at the club.
United signed him for £50 million in the summer of 2019 (BBC Sport).
But the move has not worked out, and it remains to be seen what kind demands United make for the player next month.
Wolves should only sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan with an option to buy
This is a very interesting transfer link.
Wan-Bissaka has had a thoroughly miserable time at United, and it’s clear he needs to get out of there.
Arguably, his transfer fee has weighed too heavy on him, and he needs a fresh start somewhere else.
Potentially, he could make a decent signing for Wolves.
But obviously, his form has not been good for a while.
That’s why Wolves should only sign Wan-Bissaka on loan, with an option to buy.
That might not work for United, but it would be a risky signing for Wolves to make.
