Wolves reportedly held talks over signing Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos.
According to The Athletic, the club are keen on the young attacker, but have seemingly lost out in the race to sign the youngster to Arsenal.
It was reported recently by Goal that he actually flew to London to have a medical with the Gunners.
Marquinhos, according to Goal, is a ‘talented young forward who mainly operates as a winger, but he can also play through the centre’.
He is left-footed, and prefers to play from the right so he can cut in.
He broke into Sao Paulo’s side at the age of 18, making his debut against Flamengo last year.
Supposedly, Arsenal are poised to land Marquinhos for around £3 million.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has actually tweeted recently that a full agreement has been reached and that a deal is done.
Arsenal strong competition for Wolves in Marquinhos hunt
It is little wonder Arsenal have seemingly won the race for Marquinhos.
The Gunners do have a lack of forwards at the moment.
And they also have Gabriel Martinelli in their ranks. He is someone that could potentially help him settle quickly being a fellow young Brazilian.
Wolves will no doubt have their scouting networks cast far and wide to find other top young talents to bring to Molineux.
Hopefully, there won’t be any regrets over Marquinhos in the near future.
