Wolves have reportedly looked into signing Marc Roca – but Leeds United are now set to sign the midfielder.
90min are reporting that the Whites should win the race, having offered his club Bayern Munich £12 million.
Roca has been with the Bavarian giants since 2020, but has only made 24 appearances for the club to date.
The Spaniard has struggled with a combination of injury and competing with elite-level players in his position.
There were big hopes for Roca at Bayern. A feature from the official Bundesliga website told how he plays a bit like Xabi Alonso due to his ‘composure on the ball, footballing intelligence and passing ability’.
So Roca is set to depart this summer, and Wolves had apparently been showing some interest.
Of course, the club are bracing for impact over Ruben Neves, with the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal all linked with the maestro.
Neves could depart after five years at the club, with Wolves hoping for around £70 million.
Joao Palhinha and Matheus Nunes have been strongly linked with Wolves recently, and it could be that a Neves sale funds those moves.
Apparently Wolves did look at Roca, but he is now finalising a move to Elland Road, and a deal could be concluded this week according to 90min.
Marc Roca will be interesting to watch at Leeds, as Wolves claim made
It sounds as though Roca is quite close to sealing a move to Leeds, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on there given Wolves have apparently shown some interest in him.
Roca’s stock was high at the time of his move to Germany.
He really impressed during his time at Espanyol.
Hopefully if he does join the Whites, there will be no regrets for Wolves. It’s expected that Palhinha will be coming to Molineux this summer, and he is a fine defensive midfielder in his own right.
