Wolves like Viktor Gyokeres and have been watching the Coventry City striker.
The club recently delighted supporters with a move for Matheus Cunha.
But it is thought Julen Lopetegui is ready to add another attacker to his squad next month. And it looks as though he could turn to Championship star Gyokeres.
It was reported yesterday by Swedish outlet Afton Bladet that Wolves were interested in the 24-year-old.
And now Express & Star journalist has provided an update, confirming that Wolves do indeed like the player.
He said on the publication’s latest podcast: “A few clubs looking at him… Everton, Fulham have been linked with him. There were a couple of rumours going round about Wolves. I can confirm there is interest there. They like him, they’ve been watching him.”
In addition to Keen’s comments, 90min have also reported on Gyokeres today.
They say Wolves have asked Coventry about the striker’s availability, and say the club would be looking for around £16 million to sell.
Keen also touched on the Raul Jimenez situation.
The Mexican is back fit again for Wolves, and had been ready to come on against Everton for his Premier League return. But a Daniel Podence injury meant he had to sit back down.
A firm decision has not yet been taken on the 31-year-old, Keen says, but it’s ‘not impossible’ he could depart in the January window.
Raul Jimenez situation could determine whether Wolves move for Viktor Gyokeres
It will be very interesting to see how this particular situation develops.
Gyokeres is enjoying a terrific season and looks to be a really good all-round centre-forward.
But Wolves have already brought in Cunha. So perhaps the only way this happens is if Jimenez is going to depart.
There have been some links to his former side Club America.
If that’s a move Jimenez wants, then it could well be that Gyokeres becomes a genuine target.
