Wolves transfer news: Wanderers eyeing Necaxa defender Jesus Alcantar

Wolves have been credited with an interest in Necaxa defender Jesus Alcantar.

According to a recent report from Mexican publication TUDN, the youngster has up to eight teams on his case. Only two of those are named – Wolves and Sporting CP.

Alcantar, 18, is not expected to stay at the club for much longer.

Interestingly, centre-back Alcantar has drawn the nickname ‘Mexican Pogba’ for his passing ability.

He only made his debut for Necaxa recently having impressed in the youth ranks. He joined Necaxa in 2020, having been on the books at third division side Cimarrones de Sonora.

Wolves may potentially have to get a move on if they are to snap up Alcantar ahead of the competition.

Portuguese outlet A Bola are reporting today that the youngster is ‘about to embark for Lisbon’, and are suggesting he is set to sign for Sporting to play for their B team next season.

Could Raul Jimenez lure help Wolves to sign Jesus Alcantar?

It seems as though Sporting are firmly in pole position right now to sign Mexico U20 international Alcantar.

Wolves are going to have to ramp up their efforts if they really want to bring the teenager to Compton.

There is a potential trump card for Wolves in the form of Raul Jimenez, who is obviously a fellow countryman of Alcantar.

Perhaps the thought of one day playing with the 31-year-old striker might appeal to Alcantar.
