Wolves could reportedly make a move for Heerenveen defender Milan van Ewijk.
The Daily Mail have suggested that Wanderers are one of a few clubs from England to be showing interest in the right-back.
The focus of the article is about Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Pedro Porro.
The north London outfit are keen to snap up the Portuguese star. He apparently has a buy-out clause of around £40 million.
So Sporting CP are seeking to sign a replacement for Porro. And they are looking at van Ewijk.
It is then stated that Wolves, Southampton, Fulham are all keen, while PSV Eindhoven have also made an enquiry.
The Daily Mail also published some quotes from van Ewijk about his future. He told Dutch media last week about the idea of playing in England: “It is hard to say no to such an opportunity.
“Premier League offers do not come around every day. I don’t know. It’s hard.
“On the one hand, I would like to go. But you have to think about what you’re leaving behind and whether it’s the right move.”
van Ewijk, 22, has been with Heerenveen since 2021, joining from Den Haag.
Wolves have had issues at right-back this season, with both Nelson Semedo and Jonny Castro Otto out of form for long periods.
Wolves need to freshen things up at right-back, amid claims club could move for van Ewijk
Wolves do need to be thinking about strengthening at right-back.
Semedo has seen a bit of an upturn of late which is good to see.
But who knows if he will be able to sustain a long period of good form. Since his arrival at Molineux, he wasn’t been all that consistent.
And Jonny’s form is certainly still a worry.
van Ewijk might just be a really positive signing by the club. He’s quite a bit younger than the two current options and could really reinvigorate the position.
