Tottenham Hotspur are said to be preparing to bid £40 million for Adama Traore, whose situation is currently uncertain at Wolves.
According to The Telegraph, the north Londoners are looking to take advantage of the Spaniard’s contract situation at Molineux.
Traore only has two years left on his current deal.
Negotiations have yet to be resolved.
Traore is said to be high on Spurs’ list of targets, with Nuno Espirito Santo obviously knowing him very well.
Yesterday he put in a fantastic performance against them at Molineux.
Traore was a nightmare for the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez, but his final ball again let him down.
It is clear he is the biggest threat for Wolves just at the moment.
But it is not out of the question Wolves could cash in in the coming days.
Realistically, Traore’s value will only come down from this point on if a sale is not made now.
Spurs to test Wolves’ resolve?
Traore ideally needs to be kept. His final ball still needs work but it is clear he frightens the life out of opposition defenders.
Unfortunately, the situation with his contract complicates matters.
Spurs coming in with a £40 million bid might just tempt Wolves to sell.
If the player will not sign an extension, then Wolves have to think about selling while his value is still quite high.
In an ideal world, the club wouldn’t have to entertain the idea. But the situation is what it is.
