Wolves transfer news: Raul Jimenez on Besiktas' radar

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is reportedly now on the radar of Besiktas, as speculation about his future continues to swirl.

Jimenez was once again not selected by Julen Lopetegui for the matchday squad at the weekend against Aston Villa.

The Mexico international has not featured since the 4-2 defeat to Leeds. The last time he made a matchday squad was against Nottingham Forest at the start of April. He didn’t get any minutes that day.

It has since been reported that the reason Jimenez has not been making the squad is simply down to other players working harder.

Jimenez is apparently quite a laidback individual. There is no attitude problem with the player, it is just a case of Lopetegui responding better to the intensity of other players.

Some are wondering if Jimenez will play again for Wolves before the end of the season.

Wanderers are now mathematically safe of course. So one wonders if Lopetegui will use these final games to take a look at players who haven’t been getting many minutes.

If Jimenez still doesn’t play in the last three games, then he will surely be leaving the club in the summer.

And according to Fanatik, Besiktas are keen on the 32-year-old.

Should he make that move, he would reunite with Romain Saiss, who joined the Turkish giants last year after running down his contract at Molineux.

But there is also interest from Club America, Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Roma and some outfits in the MLS.

Jimenez will have just one year left on his contract this summer.

Raul Jimenez surely heading for the exit this summer as Besiktas join race, but hopefully he gets a chance to play again for Wolves

Everything is pointing to Jimenez leaving Wolves this summer.

And if that is to be the case, then hopefully he’ll get the chance to play in front of the Molineux faithful before he departs.

He’s done a lot for the club and has provided many amazing moments.

He’s been one of the best players in the club’s history, and it would be a travesty if he didn’t pull on the shirt again.

If there is no issue between Lopetegui and Jimenez, then the manager has simply got to give Jimenez minutes before the season ends.
