Wolves transfer news: Napoli make wage offer to Adama Traore

Napoli have reportedly put a wage offer to Adama Traore, as the Wolves winger’s contract winds down.

The Spanish attacker is into the final months of his deal at Molineux now.

At the moment, he is free to talk to other clubs and arrange to sign for someone on a pre-contract.

Napoli are a club that want to sign Traore once his deal expires.

And now according to Alfredo Pedulla, the Serie A league leaders have tabled a proposal.

The Champions League club are offering Traore wages of just over £2.1 million-a-year (£40,000-a-week), plus bonuses to get to £3 million.

Julen Lopetegui has previously spoken about trying to agree an extension for Traore.

But there hasn’t yet been any movement on the situation. He has previously been reluctant to commit his future.

It’s possible that the player will wait to see how things pan out at Wolves. Things might really pick up for him and the team under Lopetegui.

The 26-year-old recently commented on his contract situation, saying (Sky Sports): “The contract thing – it will depend on the club, the club have to talk to me and we’re going to talk and we’ll see what happens…”

If he waits until the end of the season and Wolves happen to go down, then Traore will certainly not extend.

Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be watching the situation.

Adama Traore will probably want higher wages than what Napoli are reportedly offering

If it’s true Napoli are offering around £40,000-a-week to Traore, then that might not be enough to convince him to go there.

He’s 26 now and although his numbers at Wolves in terms of goals and assists aren’t great, he is still a completely unique player.

He can be devastating when he is on form.

Given he’d be a free agent, there will likely be other clubs out there who are willing to offer him a fair bit more than that.
