Wolves transfer news: Molineux scouts present to watch Benjamin Sesko score hat-trick for RB Salzburg

Wolves were reportedly one of several clubs to have sent scouts to watch RB Salzburg take on Rapid Wien at the weekend, with Benjamin Sesko – who scored a hat-trick – the focus.

The striker, 19, is one of the most coveted young players in Europe at the moment.

He has enjoyed a superb campaign with the Austrian outfit and against Wien he hit a hat-trick to take his tally to 11 for the season.

Impressively, all of Sesko’s goals came in the space of just seven minutes towards the end of the match.

Salzburg won the game 4-2, meaning they are now nine points clear at the top of the Austrian league table.

Sesko’s performance will have gone down well with the scouts that were in attendance for the game.

Apparently, many clubs had sent representatives, with 90min revealing them to be Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Leicester City, Leeds United, Inter Milan, and Wolves.

It is very interesting that Wolves are named as one club to have sent scouts.

That’s because Sesko is actually already going to be on the move this summer. It has already been confirmed that he will join RB Leipzig on a five-year contract.

It’s been reported the German side will pay around £20 million for him.

Wolves were reported last summer to have been watching the teenager.

Sesko is a very exciting young striker who could well become a top-class player in the future.

The Slovenian starlet already has lots of interest in him, despite the fact he’ll be heading to Germany later this year.

That Wolves reportedly sent scouts to watch him against Wien is very interesting.

One would imagine he’ll spend at last one year with Leipzig. After one season, his market value could potentially sky-rocket.

It could be that Wolves may ultimately not have need for Sesko, though.

Fabio Silva has enjoyed a fantastic season developing in Belgium and the Netherlands and could start to shine for Wolves from next season.
