Lyon are reportedly interested in signing Wolves wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

According to French outlet Media Foot, the Ligue 1 side have taken information on the youngster.

Lyon are looking to add at left-back, with Emerson Palmieri having returned to Chelsea following his loan spell.

Supposedly, Wolves are listening to offers for the 21-year-old, who enjoyed a great season in 2021/22.

The youngster competed for minutes with Fernando Marcal, and sometimes Jonny Castro Otto, and was able to get plenty of chances.

In the end, he made 27 appearances across all competitions, playing 2165 minutes.

Ait-Nouri caught the eye having really improved his defending compared to his first season at Molineux.

The talented former Angers prospect put in a string of excellent displays; his performances against Liverpool and Manchester City in December being two of the most memorable.

Media Foot say it is not yet clear if Lyon would like to try and sign Ait-Nouri on loan or permanently.

Wolves are not particularly well-stocked in the wing-back positions.

So it would be a major surprise if the club sanctioned Ait-Nouri’s exit this summer.

Bizarrely, Media Foot suggest the English press have claimed Wolves have placed a £21 million valuation on the player.

Ait-Nouri is going nowhere, as Lyon reportedly show interest

Wolves fans surely need not worry about Ait-Nouri leaving the club this summer.

He’s only just finished his first season as a permanent Wolves player, and he has so much potential.

It would be a foolish decision to cash in now, given how much he could be worth in just a few years. A £21 million asking price is a very questionable claim.

And a loan move is out of the question – that would simply make no sense whatsoever for Wolves. That is not something Ait-Nouri or Wolves need.

Ideally, Ait-Nouri needs to become the first-choice wing-back/full-back for Wanderers in 2022/23.
