Leicester City are reportedly now closing in on a move for Wolves defender Conor Coady.
The 30-year-old’s future has been up in the air over the past couple of weeks or so, after Everton decided not to purchase the star via their buy option.
The Toffees could have signed Coady for about £4.5 million after his loan spell at Goodison Park.
But he didn’t play much after Sean Dyche replaced Frank Lampard as manager.
Coady has been on holiday, and had been set to return to Wolves to hold talks about his future.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs said that Coady had made it clear he wanted to be at Molineux, and that the player would be speaking to Julen Lopetegui.
But it looks as though he could now be set for an exit.
Leicester City closing in on deal for Conor Coady
The Mirror have reported this afternoon that Leicester are now closing on Coady.

It is stated that the Foxes are looking to get a deal finalised by the weekend. Interest from them was first reported last week.
Leicester are said to want ‘strong, vocal leaders’, and Coady would obviously fits the brief perfectly.
The claim is somewhat surprising, because Coady has proven himself a capable performer at Premier league level over the last five years.
He was absolutely superb for Wolves operating as a ‘sweeper’ in a back three.
Wanderers, of course, ditched that system at the start of 2022/23 in favour of a more traditional back four.
Lopetegui came in and kept that system in place.
The Athletic have added that Wolves have actually turned down an initial offer from Leicester for Coady. It is not stated how much the bid was.
Conor Coady to Leicester would be a surprise
This is a very interesting claim from the Mirror that appears to suggest that a move is actually quite close.
Coady potentially playing in the Championship would be a surprise.
He’s lost his place in the England squad and would surely want to get back in. But dropping down to the second tier would, in theory, make his task a lot harder.

Perhaps Coady is simply looking to play regularly again, which he would very likely do at the King Power. He may be enticed by the challenge of leading Leicester back to the Premier League.
Leicester is also not that far from Wolverhampton so, Coady may well be tempted by the convenience of the move.
