Wolves transfer news: Ki-Jana Hoever leaving PSV due to lack of minutes

Wolves defender Ki-Jana Hoever is leaving PSV Eindhoven simply because he hasn’t been getting minutes.

Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink provided some more information about the situation yesterday.

Hoever’s loan with the club has now come to an end.

Wolves are actively searching for a new club to send him to on loan, in the hope that he will be able to play football regularly.

Elfrink has said that Hoever is a ‘welcome player’ at PSV.

There is ‘no disrupted relationship’ between the youngster and the club, and the reason the loan is being terminated is because of a lack of minutes.

Hoever made just eight appearances for PSV’s first-team, and struggled to convince Ruud van Nistelrooy of his worth.

He hasn’t played in the Eredivisie since October 16, and his last appearance was against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Interestingly, Elfrink has also said that Hoever may continue to train with PSV for the moment, despite the termination of his loan.

Ki-Jana Hoever needs big next few months to prove himself to Wolves

Hoever really needs to shine wherever he goes next on loan.

It is disappointing that his spell with PSV is ending early.

With Nelson Semedo and Jonny Castro Otto having both been in poor form for most of the season, it has been a big chance for Hoever to stake a claim to play for Wolves more regularly next season.

But he’s not been able to take the chance handed to him for one reason or another.

He now needs a really big next five months or so. Should his struggles continue, it might be that Wolves look to cut their losses.
