Wolves transfer news: Jorge Mendes offers Ruben Neves to Barcelona every time he talks to Laporta

Jorge Mendes reportedly talks to Barcelona president Joan Laporta about Ruben Neves every time he sees him.

That’s according to Marca, who have again reported on the need for the Spanish giants to replace Sergio Busquets.

The veteran midfielder is expected to leave next summer, and has been tipped to move to the MLS.

He has been an incredible player for Barca down the years, and so it will be very hard for the Catalans to replace him.

Youri Tielemans of Leicester City is a new name being mentioned as a potential successor.

But Marca also report that Martin Zubimendi and Wolves star Neves are still in the frame.

Apparently, agent Mendes offers Neves to Laporta every time they speak. It is not made clear how after that is.

But it remains to be seen if Neves is the man Barca end up going for. Apparently, Zubimendi is the player who is more widely appreciated behind the scenes.

But Neves would likely come cheaper for Barca, since he’ll only have one year left on his contract at Wolves next summer.

Laporta has already said his club won’t be signing players in January.

Many Wolves fans are realistic about the Neves situation.

He’s been a very loyal servant to the club and has been an exceptional player at Molineux. For many, he’s the best to ever wear the shirt.

Many expected him to go in the summer and were pleasantly surprised that he stayed.

It is probably not likely that that happens again next year.

Ruben Neves is surely playing his final season with Wolves, as report claims Jorge Mendes keeps offering him to Barcelona president Joan Laporta

Neves has been in fantastic form again this season, and has given Wolves a fighting chance.

He has performed admirably considering he had expected to leave in the summer. And he’s done that while wearing the captain’s armband.

It is difficult to see Neves remaining a Wolves player beyond the summer of 2023. Especially with Mendes seemingly working hard to get him out of Molineux.

It has felt for a while as though he will go to Barcelona.

But it is possible they could sign Zubimendi instead. If that happens though, there will surely be other suitors looking to sign the 25-year-old Wolves maestro.
