Wolves striker Rafa Mir has reportedly been offered to Barcelona by Jorge Mendes.
That is the claim today from Sport, who say the Catalan giants are now keen on the 24-year-old.
Apparently, Barca are hoping to offload Martin Braithwaite and Rey Manaj in the coming days.
It’s stated that Mendes first offered Mir to Barca months ago.
They weren’t keen then, but Mir’s excellent finish to the 2020/21 season has now piqued their interest.
Mir is said to want to remain in La Liga, and Wolves are said to be willing to do business.
It’s claimed Wolves would be open to a potential swap deal, although no names are given.
Perhaps his value has increased since then though, with Mir having hit a hat-trick for Spain at the Olympics earlier this week.
Mir sale needed to boost funds
Mir may only have a year left on his contract, but his amazing form for Huesca last term and contributions for Spain mean he is a good asset.
Funds appear to be a bit tight for Wolves during the current transfer window.
Therefore a sale of Mir could potentially be quite welcome.
There are only a couple of weeks until the new season gets underway, and Wolves could do with a couple more new faces. Mainly in defence and midfielder.
Selling Mir quickly may help with this.
That said, Barcelona’s financial problems have been well documented, so a quick sale here might be unlikely.
