Atletico Madrid defender Felipe is reportedly close to saying ‘yes’ to Wolves.
Marca have reported today that Brazilian is very much the subject of a pursuit from Wanderers.
Things had gone a bit quiet on Felipe after he was first linked with a move to Molineux at the start of December.
But it looks as though he may yet end up coming, with Marca saying he is now close to giving the move the green light.
Officials are Atleti are said to have ‘moderate confidence’ that Felipe will soon leave. He’s had a fair level of interest in him of late. As well as Wolves, it has also been claimed that Inter Miami like the player. And there have also been suggestions he could head back to Brazil.
The Spanish club are waiting on Felipe to depart, so that they can then bring in Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester City.
It is this scenario that could ultimately help Wolves to sign the 33-year-old.
Julen Lopetegui is said to like the player, and there were even claims yesterday that he actually called Felipe to try and convince him to join.
For now though, there is still no agreement between Wolves and Atleti.
Wanderers are also looking at a potential deal for Craig Dawson of West Ham United.
The Englishman was not involved in last weekend’s game between Wolves and West Ham as a result of the ongoing speculation.
There could be movement on Felipe the coming days for Wolves, with player now closing to saying yes to Molineux move
Wolves may soon reach a breakthrough over Felipe.
It just feels like the stars could be aligning a little bit.
Lopetegui has supposedly contacted the player which is bound to have helped Wolves’ cause.
Felipe knows he isn’t going to play much if he stays where he is. Atleti literally are waiting to replace him with Soyuncu.
So it may be that there is some movement on this very soon – and it would be another really good signing by the club.
