Wolves are reportedly on track to sign Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid, but a deal to also land Felipe is stalling.

Wanderers have been locked in talks with the Spanish club over the pair for at least a week now.

Julen Lopetegui has confirmed that Wolves are interested in both, and wants them in to strengthen his new squad.

But it appears that one deal is much further along that the other at the moment.

Marca are reporting today that Cunha, 23, is set to sign for Wolves and that an agreement has now almost been reached.

It is just now about signing the papers and finalising things. It is suggested he will sign in the coming days.

But Wolves are having a bit of difficulty right now with the Felipe deal.

The centre-half is a free agent next summer, but it has been reported that Atleti are open to selling next month to avoid losing him for nothing.

But despite that, Wolves are not finding things straightforward.

Marca’s latest report doesn’t specify what the stumbling block is. But it was reported yesterday that Wolves were still trying to come to an agreement on the player’s salary.

Thankfully it is only December 12, and the transfer window still doesn’t open for another few weeks.

Wolves therefore have time on their side to find a breakthrough over Felipe.

It sounds like Cunha is on track to sign for the club, which is great news.

But hopefully Wolves will be able to get Felipe in too, as his experience would be really handy to have.

There is surely a decent chance of Felipe signing if he sees that Cunha is going.
