Wolves captain Conor Coady is reportedly on Everton’s transfer list heading into the summer window.
The Daily Mail have produced a big report on all the clubs in the Premier League, and it would seem the Toffees are keen to land the Molineux captain as they look to move on from their season of struggle in 2021/22.
The Toffees only secured their Premier League status with one game to spare.
Frank Lampard managed to guide them to safety, having had some tough results initially.
The club struggled defensively all season, and it is little wonder there is a desire to bring in new centre-backs.
Supposedly, Coady is on their radar.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a good season on the whole for Wanderers in 2021/22.
He was outstanding in the first two-thirds of the campaign along with Romain Saiss and Max Kilman.
He helped Wolves to become one of the tightest outfits in Europe.
But he and his colleagues dipped towards the end of the season, and that, combined with Wolves’ struggles in attack, saw the club eventually finish 10th.
Coady – who cost Wolves just £2 million in 2015 – remains in demand though, and Everton have seemingly been keen for a little while now.
They were linked with him earlier this year, with TEAMtalk claiming interest.
Conor Coady to Everton still feels massively unlikely
It would be a major surprise if Coady left Wolves to join Everton this summer.
There has been some talk about Wolves perhaps changing formations for 2022/23, which maybe brings Coady’s status as a regular starter under threat.
But Lage loves his captain, and the star absolutely loves Wolves.
And obviously he is ex-Liverpool, and it just doesn’t feel like he would go to the blue half of Merseyside.
