Wolverhampton Wanderers have been credited with an interest in Liverpool star Neco Williams.
According to Goal, the Wales international is up for sale at Anfield.
The player is apparently keen to move on in search of regular football.
Williams made his debut for the Reds back in October 2019 against Arsenal in the EFL Cup.
To date, he has clocked up 25 appearances for the first-team, with Trent Alexander-Arnold firmly established as the first-choice right-back.
Along with Wolves, Goal say there is also interest from Southampton and Leeds United.
It’s explained that the Saints are currently at the front of the queue, andhave had a long-standing interest in the 20-year-old.
Williams – currently on duty at Euro 2020 of course – is valued at around the £10 million mark.
Wolves, of course, last signed a full-back from Liverpool only last year, with Ki-Jana Hoever joining in a deal worth around £13.5 million (BBC Sport).
Wouldn’t make much sense
£10 million is a decent valuation, and it’s likely the Reds will receive such an offer.
But it doesn’t make much sense for Wolves to be that team.
At the moment there is good cover in the full-back areas.
Nelson Semedo plays the bulk of the games, and then there is Hoever as back-up.
Williams does have the ability to play on the left but Hoever can do that too.
