Wolverhampton Wanderers have learned that an offer of £6.7 million could be enough to land Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena this summer.
That is the asking price the Catalan giants have placed on the 23-year-old, according to Sport.
Alena is one of a few players Barca consider transferrable this summer.
The central midfielder has had loan spells with Real Betis and Getafe.
Apparently he has interesting offers from La Liga sides, including Valencia.
Alena came through the ranks at Barca, making his debut for the club in November 2016.
To date, he has made 44 appearances for the club.
Apparently Barca are looking to secure a fee in the region of £6.7 million. That is seemingly a very low figure considering the potential of the player.
That said, Alena’s contract with the Catalan giants does expire in just a year’s time (Transfermarkt).
That’s a bargain
Wolves unquestionably need to reinforce their midfield this summer.
Barca looking for just £6.7 million for Alena should probably pique the club’s interest.
Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves have both been linked with exits from the club recently.
Perhaps moves for Vitinha and Alena would hand the club their successors.
