Wolverhampton Wanderers have received an update on the situation of Barcelona star Francisco Trincao.

According to Sport, the Catalan giants are open to offers for the 21-year-old.

He is supposedly valued at €30 million/£26 million.

It’s explained that Barca are now willing to offload Trincao, having recently signed Netherlands forward Memphis Depay.

The Dutchman’s arrival at the Nou Camp pushes Trincao even further down the pecking order in theory.

Barca, of course, have also signed Sergio Aguero, and have Ansu Fati to come back into the fold.

Then, there’s the likes of Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele.

It was reported by Fabrizio Romano last month that Trincao was a player of interest to Wolves.

And back in March, the Sunday Mirror claimed an exit for the player was ‘almost certain’.

Wolves need proven talent

Barca may be ready to offload Trincao, but Wolves should probably steer clear.

It sounds as though they won’t let him depart unless a good offer comes in.

Wolves need players to come in who can make an impact right now.

Trincao is a young player with promise.

At present, Wolves have a number of players with that kind of profile, and it’s important not to overload.

His goals and assists numbers were not great last season, and the recruitment team should be looking elsewhere.
