Wolves transfer news: Barcelona eye Romain Saiss

Romain Saiss is said to be an option for Barcelona this summer, with the star set to leave Wolves as a free agent.

The Morocco international is leaving Molineux, having joined the club back in 2016.

The 32-year-old enjoyed a really good 2021/22 season on the whole.

He was absolutely outstanding in the first half, with Bruno Lage turning to him every single game.

He then went to AFCON, and struggled to get back to that same level after returning.

He finished the season in poor form, before picking up an injury which caused him to miss the games against Norwich City and Liverpool.

Saiss recently said that his future was more or less decided, and that an exit was more likely than him extending.

Supposedly, a number of clubs across Europe have been considering a swoop for him.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are now looking to potentially make a move.

Barca want to reinforce their defence, and are also looking at Borussia Dortmund star Raphael Guerreiro.

Saiss making a move to Barcelona would be an eyebrow-raising move.

Romain Saiss to Barcelona would be a huge surprise

It would be a real surprise to see Saiss turning out in Barcelona colours next season.

He was superb for Wolves in the first half of 2021/22, but to see him go to an elite club like Barca would be a shock, considering the way he finished the season.

It would seem though that they believe he could do a job, and that he would be low-risk as a free agent.

La Liga is slower than the Premier League and so, he may actually do well for them if he was to sign.
