Wolves transfer news: Adama Traore likely to stay until summer, wants Barcelona move

Wolves star Adama Traore reportedly wants to return to Barcelona, but is prepared to stay at Wolves until the summer.

That is the claim from Spanish publication SPORT, who say the 25-year-old is wanted to replace Ousmane Dembele.

The France international is out of contract at the Nou Camp at the end of the current season. Supposedly his wage demands are making an extension unlikely.

Barca are apparently keen to re-sign Traore, who left the giants in 2015 to join Aston Villa.

SPORT say Tottenham Hotspur are keen to land the rapid forward, but Traore wants to return to Spain. It is his ‘priority’.

They add that Jorge Mendes is working on it.

Traore grabbed his first goal of the season for Wolves on Sunday.

He struck in injury-time after replacing Francisco Trincao, helping Wolves maintain their 100% win record in 2022 so far.

The Spanish star’s contract expires in the summer of 2023. There has been a lot of speculation that Wolves could cash in on him this window.

This claim from SPORT is certainly interesting.

It would certainly be a risk for Wolves to keep Traore until the end of the season in terms of his value staying high.

A risk from Wolves to keep Adama Traore

Wolves would be taking a risk not cashing in on Traore right now.

That said, the star has scored his first goal now and it could be that he enjoys a much more productive second half of the season.

Should that be the case, then his market value might not dip too much.

Maybe Wolves feel a Europa League finish is a possibility, and the club figure keeping Traore may boost their prospects.
