Wolves are reportedly set to sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton.
Things are starting to pick up now with just a few days left in the transfer window.
Wanderers have been very quiet so far this summer, with the club’s financial situation having been a real hindrance.
But the club have sold a handful of players, and Matheus Nunes could be departing in the coming days with Manchester City trying to sign the Portuguese midfielder.
And it has now been claimed that some of the money generated by Nunes’ potential sale could go on Blackburn starlet Wharton.
Wolves set to move for Blackburn starlet Adam Wharton
According to journalist Alan Nixon via his patreon, Wolves are moving for 19-year-old Wharton from Blackburn.

The Nunes windfall will allow Wolves to bring in a few players.
Interestingly, Nixon writes Wharton ‘is seen as an ideal replacement for Manchester City target Nunes because of his ability on the ball’.
That would suggest that Wolves do see him as a first-team option and not someone who will go straight in to the U21s.
Wharton made his debut for Blackburn in August 2022 in a Carabao Cup match against Hartlepool United.
A couple of weeks later, he made his debut in the Championship against Stoke.
It has also been suggested today that Wolves could make a late swoop for Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra.
Things hotting up with three days to go
So Wharton looks like he could be heading for Molineux.
Wolves losing Nunes is obviously a major blow. But there doesn’t appear to be much Wolves can do. The player wants to go and has even gone on strike.
It is massively disappointing from him.

But hopefully, the money brought in from his sale can help Wolves to pad out the squad.
And Wharton seems like a player with great potential.
