Wolves think they’ve made a £5m signing which could turn out to be brilliant

Wolves managed to bring in six new players in the summer – and the club are said to be very excited about Enzo Gonzalez.

The Paraguayan youngster was brought in by the club the day before transfer deadline.

He completed his move at the same time as Santiago Bueno, who joined from Girona.

Gonzalez signed from Libertad, which is the club Brighton plucked Julio Enciso from.

Wolves will hope that Gonzalez is similar to Enciso, who has made a big impression during his time in English football so far.

But Wolves certainly feel good about their £5 million signing…

And the determination was that he was a real talent.

The club decided to make their move towards the end of the summer window, and the deal just worked for Wolves.

This was a young player coming in for a relatively low fee and low wages.

Wolves are said to believe it is a low-risk and potentially huge-reward deal.

The last time Wolves signed a player from South America was in January, when Joao Gomes joined from Flamengo.

The club had seen him develop nicely in his first eight months at the club, and have been looking to bring more players of his profile to the club.

Enso Gonzalez needs time to bed in

It sounds very much as though Gonzalez could be a real star in the future.

But for the moment, he will need plenty of time to get comfortable.

He has come from a different continent and is only 18 years of age.

He does not yet speak English and so, it is currently all about Gonzalez being able to settle at Wolves in these first few months.

Wolves do expect him to compete for first-team minutes.

But English football and living in England could be a culture shock for Gonzalez at first.

Patience will be required over him, but he will undoubtedly receive strong backing from the fans.
