Reported Wolves target Kaio Jorge wants to leave Santos.

Due to the Brazilian youngster’s contract expiring, he can join a European club for free.

Santos had hoped he would sign a new contract.

But that doesn’t look to be on the cards, and they are now resigned to losing him at some point in the coming months.

It is a very big blow for them, with Jorge said to be their most exciting product since Neymar.

The club’s president Andres Rueda said of the situation (ESPN Brasil): “The player’s desire to go to Europe in this window is well known. It is his family’s will.

“No concrete offer has arrived. I can only respond if an offer arrives. I have been talking to him, his family and his agent since January.”

Wolves’ interest in the player was reported a few weeks ago.

A Bola claimed that Jorge could be a new signing for Bruno Lage, and that a £13 million bid had been tabled.

Jorge move right now would be unlikely

It would a big surprise if Wolves swooped for Jorge, as promising as he is.

At the moment, Wolves don’t really need to add a new striker.

Raul Jimenez is back for the start of 2021/22, and the club already have a promising young talent in Fabio Silva.

If there is a chance to sign Jorge for free at the end of the year then maybe Wolves should consider it.

More than likely though, someone is going to pay snap to him up this summer.

If the highly-rated Jorge really does have Neymar-like potential, then it’s probable there will be some clamour amongst clubs in Europe.
