Wolves target Dani Ceballos could be pushed to Real Madrid exit by Kroos and Modric

Wolves target Dani Ceballos could be heading for the exit at Real Madrid, with both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos now expected to sign new contracts.

The veteran midfielders are both out of contract in the summer.

There has been a lot of speculation about their futures and whether they will finally depart the Bernabeu after many successful years.

But Estadio Deportivo report today that both Kroos and Modric are both now set to extend their deals.

Another player out of contract this summer is Ceballos.

The Spaniard was recently linked with a move to Wolves, where he would be able to link back up with Julen Lopetegui.

It was claimed that Wanderers were readying an approach for the 26-year-old.

Estadio Deportivo suggest that Kroos and Modric renewing their contracts would close the door for Ceballos.

He would not be able to get as much game time as he would like, with both players still at a very high level and likely to be regulars next term.

Ceballos’ former club Real Betis are also thought to be keen to sign the playmaker and could pose a threat to Wolves.

Ceballos underwhelmed a bit during his loan spell with Arsenal a few years ago.

But he’s older and more mature now and has spent time working with many top-class stars at Real Madrid and under a brilliant coach in Carlo Ancelotti.

Seemingly, this update about Modric and Kroos is something that could well result in Ceballos leaving for a new challenge.

And hopefully Wolves do come in for him if he does decide to leave.

He’s a very good passer of the ball and could do well under his old manager Lopetegui. It doesn’t seem too risky to move for him as a free agent.
