Jorgen Strand Larsen could have been playing Champions League football for Newcastle this season, but Wolves held firm and kept their Norwegian striker – now Paolo Di Canio has suggested a new route for the forward.
The decision to keep the striker continues to backfire for Jeff Shi. While he may have thought his goals could keep the Old Gold up, the 25-year-old has yet to deliver the goods.
Despite his dry spell in front of goal, Rob Edwards believes that the forward is not lacking confidence.
However, for fans, they are growing impatient, with Owen Hargreaves believing the criticism stems from him wanting to leave in the summer.
Newcastle had serious interest in Strand Larsen, offering up to £55 million at one point, but with little time to find a suitable replacement, Wolves rejected all of their approaches.
It may be a decision that both the club and player are beginning to regret, but Paolo Di Canio has now offered another solution.
Should Wolves have sold Jorgen Strand Larsen? Alan Shearer certainly thinks so 😬
Paulo Di Canio suggests Jorgen Strand Larsen to Juventus

Jorgen Strand Larsen will be hoping to play Champions League football at some point in his career following the collapse of a potential move to Newcastle in the summer.
It would have been the forward’s first time experiencing the competition.
However, despite his struggles this season, Larsen appears to still have quite a few admirers, with former Juventus and West Ham man Paolo Di Canio tipping him for a move to the Old Lady.
Di Canio said on Sky Sports Italia (via Tuttosport), “Juve need a physical player up front, someone who can play a key role. You can’t live on midfielders alone. From England, I suggest Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton: physical, hungry, and a team player.
“He’s not a phenomenon, but he makes the others perform better. I’d go for him for €40-45 million (£35-39 million).”
Would you accept £35-39 million for Jorgen Strand Larsen right now?
Paolo Di Canio believes that would be a fair price for interested parties.
Wolves will not receive close to Newcastle’s offer
If one thing is for certain, the Old Gold will not receive anywhere close to the bids Newcastle were willing to make in the summer.
Despite Strand Larsen’s recent new contract, the forward’s price tag will diminish if the Molineux club are relegated, as looks likely.
While he has not looked at his best this season, it is clear that Larsen is a top-level striker, and he will not want to be playing in England’s second tier.
He will likely be one of Wolves’ many exits next summer, and if the club got an offer around £35-39 million right now, then you would suspect they would be more than happy to accept.
Fans of other Premier League clubs are also suggesting him as an option, as Everton supporters are requesting their club to keep tabs.
