Wolves confirmed yesterday that defender Yerson Mosquera has joined Spanish outfit Villarreal on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The Colombia international recently finished a loan spell at FC Cincinncati, which was very productive for the youngster.
He played 35 games for them in 2023 and was able to further his development in the MLS, after seeing his first season at Wolves wrecked by injury.
Mosquera recently returned to Compton Park and trained with the first-team and according to Matt Hobb, he has impressed everybody with how much he has improved.
Wolves have now taken the decision to loan him out again and he will join up with Goncalo Guedes at Villarreal, and Mosquera’s teammates are delighted for him…
Wolves stars send messages to Yerson Mosquera as star seals loan move to Villarreal

Mosquera has not played very much at all for the Wolves first-team since signing for £4.5 million in the summer of 2021.
While he’s made several matchday squads, the 10 minutes he played on his debut before getting injured remains his only appearance.
Despite playing so little, and spending a year away from the club in 2023, Mosquera is an ‘extremely popular’ player at the club, as stated by Hobbs yesterday.
He is a big character and has a very warm personality, and many of the Wolves players really like him. It is no surprise then, that several of them expressed their happiness about his latest loan move on social media.
Mosquera and Villarreal jointly uploaded a picture yesterday of him wearing the Villarreal shirt, and wrote the caption ‘Yerson Mosquera is already grouget!’.
The following players responded to the post:
Pedro Neto ‘Let’s gooooooo little brother’
Matheus Cunha ‘Good luck my crack!!’
Dan Bentley ‘ All the best mate’
Mario Lemina ‘Let’s go! @yersonmosquera15’
Toti Gomes ‘Let’s go panaaaa’
Jose Sa ‘Yessssssss lil brother… good luck’
Max Kilman and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde also left emojis in support, while Sasa Kalajdzic – who also recently left Wolves on loan to join Eintracht Frankfurt – said ‘best of luck brother’. Before Mosquera joined Cincinnati, he will have spent a fair bit of time with Kalajdzic with both players recovering from serious injuries at Molineux.

Reaction to Mosquera move is telling
Hobbs was not kidding when he said that Mosquera was an ‘extremely popular’ squad member.
This reaction to a mid-season loan move is certainly very heartwarming and definitely shows how well-liked Mosquera is.
Hopefully he can make the most of this move to Villarreal and come back to Wolves in the summer as a much better player. It would be absolutely fantastic to see him fighting for a first-team place next season, with the club having had very high hopes for him since he signed.
