Wolves stance on selling Hwang Hee-Chan to Matt Hobbs and Crystal Palace

Wolves forward Hwang Hee Chan has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace, and sources close to Molineux News can reveal Wolves’ current position on a potential deal.

The rumours of Hwang Hee Chan joining Crystal Palace picked up steam when it was revealed that Matt Hobbs, who left his post of sporting director at Wolves earlier this summer, was joining the South London side.

Hwang has been linked with a move from Wolves for quite some time, but he has been clear on his desire to stay in the Premier League.

As for whether Wolves are ready to sell the South Korean, some new information may provide an answer.

Wolves are open to Hwang Hee Chan going to Crystal Palace

A source close to the club has revealed that Wolves are open to the idea of a Hwang exit, with Crystal Palace’s offer suitable for both the player and the club.

Hwang hasn’t been an integral piece for Wolves since joining the club in 2021, and he isn’t massively in Vitor Pereira’s plans.

Crystal Palace are preparing for the possibility of Eberechi Eze leaving, with both Arsenal and Spurs showing serious interest. This comes after losing another key attacker, Michael Olise, last summer.

Hwang could be part of the answer to filling the Eze void, which is why Palace are stepping up their pursuit.

Hwang Hee Chan has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Crystal Palace

A report from Football Asian reveals that an agreement has been struck between Hwang and the Eagles, who are hoping to negotiate a loan move with an option to buy.

Manager Oliver Glasner is a long-time admirer of Hwang, and he has personally pushed for this deal to progress, having considered recruiting the 29-year-old on a number of occasions while managing in the Bundesliga.

Hwang has rejected approaches from multiple European clubs, preferring to stay and compete in the Premier League.

This deal is close, but it’s unlikely Wolves will sign on the dotted line until a replacement is lined up. At least that’s the hope.
