Wolves confirmed the signing of Rodrigo Gomes earlier this week – and the club have shared one trait that will endear him to fans very quickly.
One week ago today, Wolves reached an agreement with SC Braga for the player’s transfer, and by Wednesday, Rodrigo was officially signed.
The club paid around £12.7 million, and Braga negotiated a sell-on clause of 10%.
The talented 20-year-old comes in off the back of a fantastic season on loan at Estoril, for whom he scored nine goals and eight assists in 36 games.
Rodrigo has been described as a ‘perfect’ signing by Gary O’Neil, and supporters cannot wait to see him in action.
After signing him, Wolves were keen for supporters to get to know all about Rodrigo – and the club have shared something about his game that fans are undoubtedly going to really like.
Rodrigo Gomes will work his socks off until the end, regardless of the scoreline

Since O’Neil came in at Wolves, there has been a clear emphasis on working hard and leaving everything out on the pitch.
O’Neil came in for praise last term for getting Wolves to play more attractive football at times. But there was also a big improvement in the team’s off-the-ball play.
Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes were huge players for O’Neil, with the two ball-winning central midfielders epitomising what the team is all about, which is endeavour.
And Wolves appear to have just signed someone who is very much about that.
The club released a scout report about Rodrigo on their official website – and there is one line that reads: “It wasn’t uncommon to see Gomes running the whole length of the pitch when Estoril were winning in the 90th minute. Some players that wouldn’t do that, but he’s got desire and hunger.”
A comparison is also made to Pedro Neto, with Rodrigo adopting the same ‘arched back running style’ as his compatriot.

It is really interesting to read what Wolves have said about Rodrigo and the line about him busting a gut in the 90th minute of games – regardless of what score it is – is really encouraging.
Wolves fans want to watch players who will reflect them and what they are about.
That is why players like Lemina and Gomes are really popular. Their workhorse natures are relatable for a lot of people, and the endeavour they show makes them easy to get behind.
From what Wolves have said, and also based on how he came across on his first day at Compton, it is clear that new signing Rodrigo is a very humble character.
It looks like he could be a very good fit at Molineux, and hopefully he can have a big impact in his first term.
