Wolves set to miss out on talented winger who has been compared to Kylian Mbappe

Wolves are out of the race to sign one talented winger from South America who has been compared to Kylian Mbappe.

While Wolves need reinforcements in many positions this summer, one area that should be a top priority is out on the wing.

As it stands, Wolves have four first-team players who can naturally play on the wing. However, three of these have been linked away this summer.

Pedro Neto has been subjected to interest from Arsenal for years. On top of this, Wolves have recently rejected a bid for Hwang Hee-Chan while Pablo Sarabia has been linked to Turkey

Therefore, if a winger does depart, the club would be incredibly low in this department.

One player who was linked earlier this summer was Paraguayan Ramon Sosa. However, it has now been reported that Wolves are out of the race.

Sosa currently plays for Argentine side Talleres where he has hugely impressed. Since signing in 2023, he already has had 16 goals in all competitions in 56 starts.

As a result of his performances, he was compared to Mbappe. Wolves were believed to be pursuing the 24-year-old for around £15.7 million

The club have had plenty of experience in the South American market recently, signing both Joao Gomes and Pedro Lima in the last 18 months.

However, according to journalist German Garcia Grova, Wolves are now out of the race and will not be signing the winger this summer.

In 2024, the wing was arguably Wolves’ weakest position. When Neto and Hwang were both injured, the club had no threat out wide and mainly had to rely on full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri

While Rodrigo Gomes has now been brought into the club, this is not sufficient, especially if another player in this position departs.

Realistically, two more wingers are needed even if only Neto departs. Both Sarabia and Hwang are at the peak of their careers and are unlikely to have a long-term future in the first team.

Wolves need to prepare for this reality and this transfer window is the perfect time to address it.
