Wolves now look certain to miss out on Hugo Ekitike, with the player reportedly travelling to Germany to seal a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Frenchman has been a player on Wolves’ radar over the last few weeks, having barely played for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
Ekitike has made just one eight-minute appearance right at the very start of the season against Lorient, and the expectation has been that he will leave the Parc des Princes in this window.
Wanderers had been linked with a move, but there has always been rival interest from Eintracht Frankfurt – and it appears the Bundesliga outfit are set to win the race…
Wolves target Hugo Ekitike travelling to Germany to seal Eintracht Frankfurt move

It is being reported this afternoon by journalist Sant Aouna that Ekitike has been given permission by PSG to head to Germany to finalise a move to Eintracht, pending a ‘total agreement’ between the two clubs.
It had been reported a couple of weeks ago that Ekitike had been willing to drop his salary considerably in order to get a move away from the Parc des Princes.
According to another journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Ekitike is primed to join Eintracht on loan for the rest of the season. There will then be a ‘compulsory purchase option’ for the German club. The total package is worth around £25.6 million.
Hawkins says the player is flying right now, and will have his medical later this evening.
Wolves are surely missing out on Ekitike
So it looks like Ekitike will be completing a move to Eintracht this evening and not Wolves, as some fans had hoped.
He was linked with Wanderers for a few weeks in the winter window, and a good number of Wolves fans really wanted to see him come in, being an exciting young player.
The ‘very special’ youngster’s stock was very high when he was at Reims, with Wolves actually being linked with the player while he was there.
Despite the long-standing interest though Wanderers are going to miss out, meaning the focus may now be solely on Armando Broja in these final hours of the window.
