Wolves respond to Luke Cundle offer – other interested clubs named

Wolves are set for a busy end to the January transfer window. The club could yet sign off on several deals.

The final days in the winter window will decide how Wolves’ season ends. Their decisions over which players to let go and which ones to bring in will determine whether or not they remain in the Premier League.

Matheus Cunha’s future at Molineux is the hottest topic. The forward is wanted by several clubs. Despite this, Wolves are adamant Cunha is not for sale.

There could be an exit on the cards for one player though.

Wolves respond to opening Luke Cundle offer

Luke Cundle looks to be on his way out. The midfielder has emerged as an option for the Championship.

Millwall have been the first to act. The Lions made Wolves an offer for Cundle on Wednesday night.

However, even though the fee has not been reported, according to Express & Star’s Liam Keen, Wolves have rejected Millwall’s opening offer.

“Wolves have rejected an opening bid from Millwall for midfielder Luke Cundle,” he posted on X on Thursday.

Likely to spark a bidding war, Wolves will be pleased to learn more teams are interested in signing the 22-year-old.

Championship trio in Cundle race

Not only do Millwall want to sign Cundle, who has just 18 months left on his contract, but another two Championship sides are also interested.

Bristol City and Swansea also have the Wolves midfielder on their winter transfer shortlists and could be readying offers of their own.

While Cundle’s future looks certain to be away from the Midlands, it remains an open race for his signature, leaving his next destination unknown.

Since being promoted to Wolves’ first team in 2021, Cundle, who has also enjoyed loan spells with Plymouth and Stoke, has made just seven senior appearances. He has never scored for the club.
